Welcome to the Creepy Cheapy Film Festival — the ultimate showcase of bite-sized scares and creative storytelling! Whether you're a first-time filmmaker or a seasoned pro, this is your chance to make us scream, laugh, or squirm… in 90 seconds or less.

Festival Overview

Theme:

Horror, thriller, and anything creepy, weird, or unsettling.

Film Length:

Maximum 90 seconds (including titles and credits).

Grand Prize:

$5,000 cash.

Our favorite 10 films will be screened on Friday, Oct 24, 2025 and Saturday Oct 25, 2025 during Creepy Cheapy at the Crofoot Ballroom, Pontiac MI.

Eligibility

Open to all filmmakers, amateur or professional. Films can be shot on any device — smartphone, DSLR, cinema camera, or anything else. Submissions must be original content owned by the filmmaker. Entrants must be 18+ or have parental/guardian consent.

Submission Requirements

MP4 or MOV (1080p preferred).

90 seconds total — films longer than this will be disqualified.

Clear sound is recommended.

$25 non refundable.

Content Guidelines

To keep the festival fun, scary, and safe for all audiences: Gore, blood, and jump scares are welcome — extreme violence or hate speech is prohibited. No pornography, real-life harm, or illegal content. Parody and comedy-horror are encouraged — get creative!

Judging Criteria

Submissions will be judged by a panel of horror enthusiasts and Creepy Cheapy judges.

• Creativity & Originality – New ideas, unexpected twists, unique scares.

• Storytelling – Even in 90 seconds, we want a beginning, middle, and end.

• Visual & Sound Design – Camera work, editing, and sound design impact.

• Overall Impact – Does it shock us, scare us, or leave us wanting more?

Awards & Prizes

Grand Prize: $5,000 cash + Creepy Cheapy Trophy. Additional prizes may be announced from sponsors.
